When I asked the question “What is your favourite and least favourite fragrance?” on my facebook page, through my willfennell.com.au site and on the DNA website blog, I was delighted to see such an eclectic mix of diverse fragrances.
As expected, the big perfume houses such as Armani, D & G and Chanel did feature prominently, but it was encouraging to see that we are not all clones and that there was quite a broad range of favourites and not so favourites. It is also interesting to see that there are some fragrances, which polarise people’s opinions: Joop and Fahrenheit, for example, placed highly on both the favourite and least favourite lists.
The winner, by a significant margin, of most popular men’s fragrance is the classic number one selling men’s perfume by Giorgio Armani – Acqua Di Gio. It probably doesn’t hurt that hottie Larry Scott has appeared in the ads since its launch in 1996.
