HOPE IN A JAR?

Last month the Sydney Beauty Expo was on at Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre. Now for those of you out there that use the same cream on your feet as you do on your face, this will mean nothing and I suggest you skip this blog entry and get straight to the free skin care advice elsewhere. But for those of you whom have seen the light read on.

The atmosphere on the way into Darling Harbour was electric. Everywhere you looked women with big hair and rainbow coloured talons were making their way into the giant halls to have their annual look into what’s new and exciting in the world of beauty. The golden gates were shining and I felt like Dorothy entering the gates to Oz. I was nervous. Were my expectations too high? Are the skeptics right? Is the industry nothing more than a moneymaking machine with no real answers?

The answer to my relief is a definite no. It restored my faith that we as skin care professionals are working with superior skin care formulations. The gap between skin care therapists and dermatologists is getting smaller and gone are the days of the beauty salon offering just painted nails and pots of pretty creams. We are now at the forefront in providing the most technically advanced anti aging and problem skin treatments available to treat your face and body.

But often it’s a case of what should I look for when looking for a moisturiser? Here is a list of ingredients that I compiled for Troy Thompsons best selling book “The Younger You”. All of these ingredients in my opinion (and well respected scientists) do amazing things for your skin. Search for them in the ingredient listing and make sure that the product has at least three.
